4. (§27.25) Emergency Custody Determinations

The MoUCCJEA gives Missouri courts temporary emergency jurisdiction to enter custody determinations if a child is present in the state and “has been abandoned, or it is necessary in an emergency to protect the child because the child, or a sibling or parent of the child, is subjected to or threatened with mistreatment or abuse.” Section 452.755.1, RSMo Supp. 2011.
