3. (§27.24) Modification of Custody Decree of Another State

The UCCJEA differs from the UCCJA in its analysis of modification of custody decrees entered by other states. Under the UCCJA, the court analyzed whether the rendering state maintained jurisdiction under the terms of the UCCJA. This became problematic when the majority of states repealed the UCCJA in favor of the UCCJEA.
