Section 26 Moving Costs and Related Expenses-Nonresidential Moves

Additional benefits, beyond the moving costs described in §5.24 above, are available in a nonresidential move, and include the following:

  • The purchase of “substitute personal property,” as defined in 49 C.F.R. § 24.301(g)(16), connections to utilities, and modifications to the personal property necessary to adapt it to the replacement structure, 49 C.F.R. § 24.301(g)(3)

  • Any license, permit, fees, or certification required of the displaced person at the replacement location; payment may be based on the remaining useful life of the license, etc. from the original...
