Section 26 Jury Duty

Any individual who is called for jury duty is required to appear unless excused by statute. Under Missouri law, a person who does not appear can be fined up to $250 for contempt of court. Section 494.450, RSMo 1994.

In Missouri state court, jurors are paid six dollars per day and seven cents per mile for each mile traveled from their residences to the courthouse and home again. Section 494.455.1, RSMo Supp. 1999.
