Section 26 Fluid Nature of United States Labor Law

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB or Board) is a quasi-judicial and quasi-political body. The law changes with distressing frequency as the composition of the Board changes. This chapter is nothing more than a brief overview of some of the more common problems. Even as to the issues it addresses, the law could change by the time this book is in print. The attorney handling matters in this area needs regular access to a major library containing one of the services, such as those provided by the Bureau of National Affairs or Commerce Clearing House.

A few illustrations on this point may prove instructive and provide a sense of the fluid nature of the NLRB’s precedents.
