5. (§25.22) Simultaneous Proceedings

If a petition to establish a support order is filed in Missouri after a similar petition is filed in another state, a Missouri tribunal may exercise jurisdiction to establish a support order if:

· the petition was filed in Missouri before the time expires in the other state for filing a responsive pleading challenging that state’s exercise of jurisdiction;

· “the contesting party timely challenges the exercise of jurisdiction in the other state; and”
