F. (§24.8) Interest and Attorney Fees

Section 454.520, RSMo 2010, specifies the procedures for calculating interest on support judgments. Support judgments, unlike regular money judgments, earn interest at the rate of one percent per month. Regular money judgments bear interest at nine percent unless a different interest is specified in the contract or promissory note. See § 408.040.1, RSMo Supp. 2011.

Section 454.520 provides that delinquent child support and maintenance payments earn interest ranging from one percent to nine percent per annum, depending on when the original support order was issued and during what periods the delinquency accrued.
