5. (§23.50) DNA Analysis

DNA analysis, used in determining whether biological samples such as blood or semen recovered from a crime scene came from a particular person, is a procedure sufficiently established to have gained general acceptance in the scientific community and, thus, is admissible in evidence. State v. Davis, 814 S.W.2d 593, 602–03 (Mo. banc 1991), cert. denied, 502 U.S. 1047 (1992).
