A. (§22.25) Applicability

LHWCA (Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act of 1927), 33 U.S.C. §§ 901 et seq., as amended in 1972, is an administrative compensation law applied to land-based maritime employees. Before the passage of LHWCA, by nature of their maritime employment, certain workers were not covered under state workers’ compensation laws.
