The General Assembly enacted the MHDC (Missouri Housing Development Commission) law in 1969 in response to diminished federal financial assistance for low- and moderate-income housing. Sections 215.010–215.250, RSMo 2000 and Supp. 2010. The MHDC provides assistance to developers of multi- and single-family housing and also provides assistance for housing rehabilitation. The assistance is not limited to economically distressed areas.
