Section 211.151.3, RSMo 2000, provides that fingerprints and photographs may be taken of a child without the approval of the juvenile judge when the child is in custody for offenses that would be considered felonies if committed by adults. But the judge must consent for fingerprints and photographs to be taken of a child who is taken into custody as the victim of abuse or neglect, as a status offender, or for an offense that would be considered a misdemeanor if committed by an adult.
