C. (§21.8) Maintenance Issues

Serot ex rel. Serot v. Serot, 536 S.W.3d 771 (Mo. App. E.D. 2017), involves the use of expert witnesses in determining maintenance issues.

A court can be reversed for entering an order of nonmodifiable maintenance at trial absent medical records or expert testimony that justifies such an order. In re Marriage of Michel, 142 S.W.3d 912, 926 (Mo. App. S.D. 2004); In re Marriage of Otis, 479 S.W.3d 142, 146 (Mo. App. S.D. 2015).
