2. (§21.3) Using an Expert

In Hurst v. Hurst, 553 S.W.3d 853 (Mo. App. E.D. 2018), the appellate court ruled that evidence at the trial court level did not support the low gross monthly income the court ruled the husband had in determining child support. The parties had stipulated at trial, and after exchange of expert tax information before trial, that the presumptive child support amount for the father should be nearly three times what the trial court found it to be.

Francis v. Wieland, 512 S.W.3d 71 (Mo. App. W. D. 2017), involves the use of experts in child custody and support disputes.
