B. (§21.14) General Rule

The FTCA (Federal Tort Claims Act), 28 U.S.C. §§ 2671 et seq., recognizes liability on the part of the federal government for the negligent or wrongful acts or omissions of federal government employees. Subject to certain exemptions that have been construed judicially and the provisions of 28 U.S.C. § 2680, if the tort is recognized by the law of the place where the act or omission occurred, compensation may be provided.
