The MMWA (Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act, 15 U.S.C. § § 2301et seq., also applies to consumer products and may apply to home repair and remodeling cases. Consumer products are defined as "any tangible personal property . . . normally used for personal, family, or household purposes." 15 U.S.C. § 2301(1). Generally, the MMWA applies to products with written warranties. The MMWA requires that written warranty terms must be disclosed presale and clearly and conspicuously state certain specific information. 15 U.S.C. § 2302(a); see also16 C.F.R. § 700.1.
