Gender discrimination in employment is prohibited in Missouri by two principal sources of law:

1. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e et seq.

2. The Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA), Chapter 213, RSMo

Two other less comprehensive, though equally important, laws also cover gender discrimination in employment:

1. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA) (29 U.S.C. § 206), 29 U.S.C. § 206(d)(1)
