A. (§2.44) Confidentiality and Disclosure Procedures
The Missouri legislature has provided that "files and records of the court in adoption proceedings shall not be open to inspection or copy[ing] by any person or persons, except upon an order of the court expressly permitting [inspection or copying]." Section 453.120.1, RSMo 2000. Any person permitting inspection or copying without an order of court will be guilty of a class C misdemeanor. Section 453.120.2.
