A. (§2.25) Notice of Appeal; Contents

Rule: The notice of appeal and the $50 docket fee must be filed in the trial court on the forms prescribed by the Supreme Court of Missouri.

Rule 81.04(a) requires that the notice of appeal be filed with the clerk of the trial court. Rule 81.04(c) requires that the $50 docket fee be deposited with the clerk of the trial court at the time that the notice is filed. The payment of the docket fee is essential to a valid notice of appeal.
