F. (§2.22) Criminal Responsibility and Conflicts of Interest

The Missouri Revised Statutes contains an entire chapter—Chapter 576—dedicated to criminal offenses affecting government. Some of these offenses target criminal conduct performed by a government agent, whereas other offenses target third parties who would seek to influence or otherwise disturb natural government function. These offenses include the following:

· Bribing a public servant—a class E felony, § 576.010, RSMo 2016

· A public servant acceding to corruption—a class E felony, § 576.020, RSMo 2016

· Obstructing government operations—a class B misdemeanor, § 576.030, RSMo 2016

· Official misconduct (seven specific types)—a class A misdemeanor, § 576.040, RSMo 2016

· Misuse of official information—a class A misdemeanor, § 576.050, RSMo 2016
