Missouri courts do not recognize an exception to the at-will doctrine based on the theory of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing. Neighbors v. Kirksville Coll. of Osteopathic Med., 694 S.W.2d 822, 824 (Mo. App. W.D. 1985). A covenant of good faith and fair dealing is, however, implied in employment contracts. Morton v. Hearst Corp., 779 S.W.2d 268, 273 (Mo. App. W.D. 1989); seeHess v. Sanofi-Synthelabo Inc., 503 F. Supp. 2d 1178, 1192 (E.D. Mo. 2007).
