J. (§19.33) Taxing of Cost

The cost of taking the deposition (not of copies) must be certified by the officer before whom the deposition is taken. Rule 57.10(b). The costs of taking the deposition “shall” be taxed in favor of the party paying them and taxed as “other costs” in the civil action. Rule 57.10(a). This does not apply to the videotaping of depositions unless the parties have stipulated otherwise. Rule 57.03(c)(6).
