Section 18 Representation and Participation

“A claimant may represent him/herself or be represented by a duly authorized agent, who may not charge a fee for the representation.” 8 C.S.R. § 10-5.015(9)(A); Rule 5.29(b). An authorized agent must comply with rules of conduct established by the Division. 8 C.S.R. § 10-5.015(9)(G). These rules of conduct are listed in the informational pamphlet that is mailed to all parties upon the filing of an appeal.

Any interested party that is a corporation, partnership, or other business entity authorized by law may be represented by an officer of the entity or by a person employed by the entity full time in a managerial capacity. Rule 5.29(c). The term “managerial capacity” includes any person who has managerial or supervisory duties. 8 C.S.R. § 10-5.015(9)(B).
