G. (§18.23) Motor Vehicles
Damage to motor vehicles is a ubiquitous kind of property damage. The general rule is that damages for an automobile are determined by looking at the difference between its reasonable market value before and after the injury. There is an exception, however, when the amount of the damage is insignificant as compared to the value of the property as a whole. In this case, cost of repair is a proper measure. See:
