VI. (§18.13) Termination of Pendente Lite Order

As discussed in §18.2 above, the purpose of providing the statutory remedy of PDL (pendente lite) orders is to preserve the status quo, thereby protecting the parties in a dissolution proceeding throughout the process. Consistent with this purpose is the general rule that a PDL order will expire upon the court’s rendering a judgment of dissolution or upon the termination of the underlying action and that the order will have no prospective application.
