Missouri courts have accepted proof of the reasonable necessity of medical and hospital expenses by inferential evidence. In Wise v. Towse, 366 S.W.2d 506, 508 (Mo. App. W.D. 1963), the court first noted that there was no direct testimony that the x-rays in question were necessary. But the court went on to accept their necessity as a reasonable inference from the evidence showing that the plaintiffs sought medical diagnosis and treatment after the accident and the examining doctor sent them to the hospital to have x-rays.
