L. (§16.14) Urban Homesteading
Missouri has established an Urban Homesteading Program, which provides for reutilization of abandoned, tax-delinquent properties. Sections 99.875–99.912, RSMo 2016. Local adoption of the program can be accomplished by establishing a special board or commission or authorizing an existing municipal board, commission, department, or agency—including a housing or redevelopment authority or a not-for-profit community development corporation—to administer the program. See § 99.877, RSMo 2016.
