Violations of the duty of fair representation were found in the following cases:

• Richardson v. Communications Workers of Am., AFL-CIO, 443 F.2d 974 (8^th Cir. 1971) (union wrongfully induced employer to discharge employee and then refused to process the employee’s discharge grievance because the employee was not a union member)
