It is clear that Missouri courts will accept proof derived from inference of the reasonableness and necessity of medical and hospital damages. Although it is clearly risky to rely on inferential evidence, Missouri claimants have been successful in establishing both the reasonableness and necessity of medical and hospital expenses in the absence of any direct evidence. See Hay v. Ham, 364 S.W.2d 118, 125–26 (Mo. App. W.D. 1962); Wise v. Towse, 366 S.W.2d 506, 508 (Mo. App. W.D. 1963).
