a. (§14.89) Joint Possession

Often, the evidence will establish that the defendant was in joint possession of the premises where the controlled substance was found. In State v. Wiley, 522 S.W.2d 281 (Mo. banc 1975), the Court held that, as to controlled substances, a person in exclusive control of the premises is deemed to be in possession and control of substances found there.
