2. (§14.29) Final Settlements

Conservators must make a final settlement at a time fixed by the court within 60 days after termination of their authority. Section 475.290.1, RSMo 2000. The authority of a conservator for a disabled person terminates in accordance with § 475.083.1, RSMo Supp. 2008, as follows:

· Upon an adjudication that a disabled person’s ability has been restored

· Upon revocation of the letters of the conservator

· Upon acceptance by the court of the resignation of the conservator

· Upon the death of the protectee except that, if there is no person other than the estate of the protectee liable for the funeral and burial expenses of the protectee, the conservator may, with the approval of the court, contract for the funeral and burial of the deceased protectee
