Section 12 Appeals Tribunal

The appeals tribunal is a referee or a body consisting of three referees appointed by the Director of the Division of Employment Security (Division) to conduct hearings and make decisions on appeals from administrative determinations. Sections 288.030.1(1) and 288.190.1, RSMo Supp. 2007.

In December 2007, the appeals section of the Division consisted of a chief referee, 30 referees, and 20 support staff members. Twelve referees are stationed in St. Louis, five in Kansas City, three in Springfield, and the remainder in Jefferson City. More than 27,300 appeals of various types were disposed of in calendar year 2007.
