C. (§12.9) Notice Requirements

A contract will generally specify certain notice requirements that must be met for the delay to be excusable or compensable, including:

· what notice of any delay the contractor must provide to the owner;

· to whom the notice must be given; and

· the form of the notice.

Frequently, the owner will contend that notice of the delay was not given when it occurred, thus barring a corresponding extension.
