2. (§12.4) Townships and Removal of County Seats
Counties are divided into townships by the county commission, and the commission may amend or consolidate townships; consolidation is accomplished upon petition by the legally qualified voters of the townships concerned. Section 47.010, RSMo 2016. The descriptions of townships are required by law to be filed with the Secretary of State. Section 47.020, RSMo 2016.
