A. (§12.4) Initiation of Investigation
When an attorney becomes involved in an abuse or neglect case, the attorney must determine whether any official action has already been taken. This may include the involvement of the CD (Children’s Division) of the Missouri Department of Social Services in the case. If the CD has not yet become involved, the attorney may want to consider whether the involvement of the CD might be appropriate.
