B. (§12.31) Constructive Acceleration

A contractor that experiences numerous delays may find it difficult and expensive to stay on schedule and finish the work by the original completion date. If those delays are excusable or caused by the owner and the owner does not formally order the contractor to accelerate, the contractor is forced to decide whether to either apply more resources to the project, thus incurring extra expense, and rely on the owner to reimburse it later, or risk untimely completion and face possible liquidated damages, additional field and home office overhead...
