1. (§12.26) Required Findings When Supervised Visitation Ordered

If a domestic case involves allegations of abuse or neglect, the court may properly deny rights of visitation or temporary custody to the abusive parent. Kovacs v. Kovacs, 869 S.W.2d 789, 793 (Mo. App. W.D. 1994). The court may also order supervised visitation or place limitations on the party’s exercise of visitation. Section 452.400.2(3), RSMo Supp. 2011, defines supervised visitation as “visitation which takes place in the presence of a responsible adult appointed by the court for the protection of the child.”
