Section 11 Special Provisions for School Employees

Special provisions apply to leave taken by employees of public and private elementary and secondary schools. 29 C.F.R. §§ 825.600–825.604. The employer may require “instructional employees”
(as defined in 29 C.F.R. § 825.600(c)) to take leave in blocks of time or at the end of the term—as opposed to intermittently—if certain conditions are met. 29 U.S.C. § 2618(c).
