In re Gault, 387 U.S. 1 (1967), see §3.1, supra, lays down standards and guidelines to be followed in the juvenile court. The juvenile must be given notice of the alleged misconduct sufficiently in advance of scheduled court proceedings to allow a reasonable opportunity to prepare. See also Rone v. Wyrick, 764 F.2d 532 (8^th Cir. 1985) (even though the parents were not promptly notified that the child was taken into custody, the lack of notification by itself did not render the juvenile’s confession either involuntary or a product of ignorance).
