Missouri courts generally do not recognize claims on the theory of implied contract. Johnson v. McDonnell Douglas Corp., 745 S.W.2d 661 (Mo. banc 1988); Hanrahan v. Nashua Corp., 752 S.W.2d 878 (Mo. App. E.D. 1988). Implied contract claims based on employer letters and oral promises have been rejected. But implied contract claims based on employee handbooks have been incorporated into employment contracts under certain circumstances.
