1. (§11.9) Generally

The Missouri administration of the estate of a nonresident decedent was an area substantially changed by the revision of the Missouri Probate Code, Chapters 472–475, RSMo, in 1980. Before that time, administration proceedings and other procedures in Missouri with respect to property of a nonresident decedent in Missouri were original proceedings conducted solely under the authority of Missouri statutes and were independent of and not ancillary to proceedings in any other state.
