III. (§10.3) Preserving Grounds for Appeal

The appellate court acts as a reviewing court and, in most instances, will only review issues that have previously been decided in the trial court. An appellant who failed to preserve the claimed error or who preserved it improperly will probably lack the prerequisites to assert that matter on appeal successfully.
