Though “noncompete” is the term most frequently used to describe restrictive employment covenants, these covenants come in many different forms. Restrictive employment covenants are typically used to restrict an employee’s behavior after the employee leaves the employer. These agreements typically address:

  • confidentiality issues
  • ownership of inventions
  • solicitation of coworkers
  • solicitation and servicing of clients; and
