The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 2601 et seq., entitles eligible employees to up to 12 weeks of leave per year for:
- the birth or adoption of a child
- care for an immediate family member with a serious health condition; or
- an employee’s own serious health condition
