2. (§1.8) Circumstantial Evidence

Circumstantial evidence can best be defined as all other kinds of evidence other than direct evidence. It is probably the most prevalent type encountered in trials and, in many cases, the only evidence offered. Its primary characteristic is that it supplies the basis for an inference of the “truth” of some other fact.
