1. (§1.7) Direct Evidence

Direct evidence is that which tends to prove or disprove a proposition without an intervening inference. It may be demonstrative—for example, the car in which Mr. Smith was riding at the time of the accident. It may be testimonial—for example, the testimony that Mr. Jones saw Mr. Smith in the accident vehicle. No problem of relevancy arises with reference to direct evidence.
