C. (§1.33) Competence

Rule 4–1.1 requires a lawyer to provide clients with competent representation on appeal. The obverse of this notion is that the lawyer should refuse or withdraw from an appeal if he or she cannot provide the requisite knowledge and skills to properly handle the appeal. See Ruggero J.
