4. (§1.19) Towns and Villages
In addition to cities of the third and fourth class, and constitutional and special charter cities, numerous communities are organized as towns or villages. In Missouri, the terms are synonymous, § 80.010, RSMo 2016, and the word “village” is predominant. See State ex rel. Scott v. Lichte, 126 S.W. 466 (Mo. banc 1910).
