C. (§1.13) Chapter 10—Aviation Liability

The chapter on aviation tort litigation addresses the various torts that arise from the use or operation of aircraft and the operation of facilities that service the air travel industry. It includes a discussion of the operations of private, commercial, and military aviation and alerts counsel to the wealth of federal statutes and regulations, together with treaties and tariffs, that may apply in the common-law cause of action based on an aviation tort. Issues pertaining to questions of jurisdiction, choice of law, and insurance coverage unique to aviation are touched on as well.
