The SEC recently set Jan. 1, 2005 as the date for auditors of non-public broker-dealers to register with the PCAOB.

In the release, the SEC said "application of registration requirements and procedures to auditors of non-public broker-dealers is still being considered," meaning that the 2005 registration date may be changed.
