Sealaska pursues forestry work.

Sealaska Corp. invested about $1.5 million this year in silviculture treatments--or forestry management--of its lands. The investment helped create more than 40 jobs in rural communities, according to Sealasaka officials. The Juneau-based Alaska Native corporation's natural resources department has been providing management and forestry services since 1993. Chris E.
